Eastern Virginia Bankshares Selects Peak 10 as Exclusive Data Center Provider
Popular community bank teams up with leading hybrid IT provider to provide better redundancy and improve business continuity for customers
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – July 11, 2017 – Peak 10 + ViaWest a hybrid IT infrastructure provider offering colocation, interconnection, cloud and managed IT services, today announced that the company has been chosen as the exclusive data center service provider for Eastern Virginia Bankshares (EVB), a community bank serving small to medium-sized businesses and consumers in Virginia. Peak 10’s data center services will ensure complete redundancy for EVB’s customers and better business continuity for the company as a whole.
In late 2016, EVB began the process of moving their corporate headquarters from Tappahannock, Va. to Richmond. Along with the move, EVB began the process of searching for a data center partner with a strong Richmond presence and experience supporting the workloads of some of the biggest national enterprises. EVB’s decision to choose Peak 10 was also based on the company’s ability to safely and securely handle the highly confidential workloads required in regulated industries like financial services.
“We go the extra mile for our customers by providing the best service possible,” said Kia Ware, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at EVB. “After working with Peak 10 for several months, it’s clear that they practice the same business model. Peak 10 is a natural extension of our IT team and they are always willing to go the extra step for us. We are thrilled with our decision to partner with Peak 10 and look forward to a very bright future together.”
Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Peak 10 operates 16 data centers in key U.S. markets and serves a diverse range of U.S. and globally-focused customers. Since first entering the Richmond market in 2007, Peak 10 has seen steady customer growth, primarily in the industries of healthcare, financial services, IT and logistics. The company serves hundreds of area customers, including Virginia Women’s Center, Richmond Cold Storage and Virginia United Methodist Homes.
“Peak 10 has a great deal of experience handling sensitive data and meeting compliance requirements for some of the industry’s top financial services institutions,” said Joe Deney, Executive Vice President of Customer Operations at Peak 10. “When a bank is looking to securely store their customers’ data, it is critical that they choose a partner they can trust. We pride ourselves on being a true partner to our customers – someone they can count on when they need guidance and advice on their critical IT needs. We are pleased to be working with well-regarded institution like EVB, and are excited for what’s to come.”
