Peak 10 Continues to be Recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for DRaaS Amidst a Rapidly Changing Market
The company continues to Improve its DRaaS Offering to Meet the Evolving Needs of its Enterprise Customers
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – June 22, 2017 – Peak 10 + ViaWest, a hybrid IT infrastructure provider offering colocation, interconnection, cloud and managed IT services, today announced it is proud to be recognized in the Gartner, Inc. 2017 “Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service.” This marks the third consecutive year that Peak 10 has been recognized in the annual publication.
To meet the evolving needs of its customers, Peak 10 continues to improve its DRaaS solutions. Although not in time for inclusion in this Magic Quadrant, the company recently launched Extended Journaling, a new failback expansion feature of its Recovery Cloud offering, which gives customers the ability to expand DR testing capabilities and recover data quickly to previous points in time up to 14 days earlier, significantly lowering an organization’s operational risk and potential for data loss in the event of a disaster. The update provides Peak 10 customers with broad support of disaster testing strategies, including multi-day exercises; reduces the risk of data loss through self-service control of data replication journaling; automates recovery of complex applications to precise point-in-time and increases disaster preparedness.
As noted in the explanation section of the Magic Quadrant, “Gartner defines disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) as a service offering that includes replication of server workloads and recovery of such workloads, as needed, to a cloud with which the provider ultimately has fiscal responsibility. The service may be fully managed or self-service; replication and recovery may be high-touch or automated via software; and the target location and cloud infrastructure with which the workloads are replicated and recovered may be owned by the provider or a third party, such as a hyperscale public cloud provider.”i
In the Magic Quadrant for this market sector, Gartner analysts evaluated 23 service providers offering Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), based on the criteria of ‘ability to execute’ and ‘completeness of vision.’
“We are excited to be recognized in the Magic Quadrant for what we believe is due to keeping pace with a market full of technology advancements and changing business needs,” said Mike Fuhrman, chief technology officer at Peak 10. “Our updated Multi-Tier Recovery Cloud offering is a cost-effective and highly-flexible solution that significantly lowers an organization’s operational risk and minimizes the potential for data loss in the event of a disaster, ensuring rapid recovery of mission-critical applications and data. In the months ahead, we will provide additional enhancements to help our customers ensure they have the advanced disaster recovery tools they need to protect their critical data.”
