Peak 10 takes A&R Logistics from Disaster to Recovery, and Beyond – at “Warp Speed”
New Peak 10 Case Study Highlights How Logistics Company Dodges Disaster with DRaaS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – June 9, 2017 – Peak 10 - In its latest case study, national IT infrastructure, connectivity and cloud services provider, Peak 10, Inc., explains the potentially catastrophic power interruptions that A&R Logistics was able to mitigate with Peak 10’s Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution. The case study outlines how Peak 10 helped A&R Logistics, a transporter of plastic resins and a rapidly growing company with a national footprint, fail over to its Recovery Cloud; operate there for 45 days while reestablishing its production environment in a colocation facility; and implement a permanent, remote DR solution.
In regards to the unplanned and potentially catastrophic power interruptions that A&R Logistics began experiencing at its production data center and having to find an immediate, high-performance solution, Rick Blanchard, vice president of technology, stated, “I’ve never been in a situation like this one before, and most companies won’t ever see a similar situation. But I have worked at other companies where we wanted to go to the cloud for production or disaster recovery, and either we thought we didn’t have the resources to do it, or we just didn’t know the next steps to take.”
“We fully replicated the data center on the Recovery Cloud within five weeks of the initial call [to Peak 10] – which believe me, was a phenomenal accomplishment. And our performance in the Recovery Cloud was equal to or even better than our previous production performance,” added Blanchard. “Having a partner with Peak 10’s expertise, dedication, and ability to execute proved invaluable, and it’s great to have them as a partner now and going forward.”
