ViaWest Appoints Annalea Ilg As Chief Information Security Officer
New position underscores ViaWest’s commitment to enabling client success through security and compliance
DENVER — Dec. 15, 2016 —Creating a new position to demonstrate its commitment to security leadership, ViaWest has promoted Annalea Ilg to Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. With nearly 20 years of experience, Ilg is responsible for driving security and compliant-enabled product development to better enable clients to transform their IT infrastructure.
ViaWest delivers solutions and services to help companies ensure their IT environment is secure, from design to disaster recovery. Also, its solutions are purpose-built to be compliant-enabled to assist companies with navigating regulation requirements and demonstrating that their systems are protected.

Prior to this promotion, Ilg served as ViaWest’s Vice President of Quality, Security and Compliance, Vice President of Solutions Architecture and IT Security, and Technical Director of Security Products. In those roles, she designed, managed and supported secure and compliant cloud product solutions to help clients meet regulations and protect themselves from security breaches. Additionally, she was responsible for managing the internal IT and security teams at ViaWest supporting 400 users, critical business function services, infrastructure, redundancy, corporate services and shared services. She also managed operational security teams, supporting compliance products and corporate security initiatives.
Before joining ViaWest, Ilg served as Director of Compliance and Security at CoSentry. She has also held senior IT positions at Central States Indemnity Co. of Omaha, Midlands Newspapers, Inc. and St. Francis Hospital of Georgia. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute.
Ilg recently was re-elected president of the Omaha and Lincoln, Nebr., Security Chapter for (ISC)2. She founded the chapter in 2012 and served as president for the first two years. The chapter now has over 250 members.
